What is the difference between a Mobile, a Manufactured, &  a Modular home?
*California Law distinguishes between these homes by the building codes to which they must comply. Manufactured Homes are built in a factory and must comply with the National Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards, a uniform code administered and enforced by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Mobile Homes were constructed to comply with standards enforced by California State prior to June 15, 1976, when the HUD Code became effective. Although there are still mobile homes in the existing housing stock, they have not been constructed since this date. Modular Homes are constructed on sight to comply with the California Uniform Building Code. Cole and Associates can further answer any questions you have regarding these three types of housing as we do specialize in all three.
